Cassiar sat crouching while she downed the pills. He pulled his holster around to the front and staped in his staff. Picking her up gently he swung her onto his back. "hold on around my neck" he whispered, trying not to aggervate her head ache, though he desperatly wanted the singing to stop. "keep singing, you'll need to stay awake." He stood carfully, resituated her and started to walk. Looking down he saw her shoes. "Damn." Carefully he reached down to each shoe putting on on either foot, the might not be on all the way but the would stay. "Wheres the dog?"

Kabache sleepily obeyed, merely humming the song quietly, just enough for Cass to be able to hear. The dog barked down at his heels, alert and ready to follow.

"Cass... what's the matter, why aren't you moving..." Kabache manages to whine.

The air was thick with it. Ritual magic. It was far off, but even at this distance it was strong. He sighed and rolled his shoulders.
"It's nothing we need to worry about right now." He answered. Still sencing the magic like a metaphysical brick wall. It pushed back on him as he took a step forward. He gathered his power around him and pushed back. "Maybe we will have a problem," He muttered pushing the other aura back with his own at every step.

Gradualy he walked up the slope. What power is this that can be so strong at such a distance? Cassiar shifted Kabache on his back, sinking slowly till she was laid gently on the ground. He turned on his heels and faced her.
"How are you doing?"

After being ignored a few more moments he sighed "Whatever" he mummbled. Walking a few paces away he sent threads into the earth on the path ahead of him. There was no smell on the air and no vibrations in the ground nothing. Kabache had called it a rat race, so where was everyone?
He moved his staff from its place, and set it on the ground. Then turned to pick up Kabache, setting her on his back again he picked up the staff and started back up the hill.

Night was falling quickly over the small forest-path terrain. The Ritual Magic Force Field that had been pushing Cassiar all day had never worn down. And with a small girl on his back and an uphill trek all day long; he was weary.
Carfully swinging Kabache's weight around him he cradled her as he gently set her on the ground. Taking off his staff-straps, he sat down, watching over her.
What should I do?
He couldnt help but thinking he was useless in this matter. He had been thrown into a strange world that he knew nothing about, with a woman he knew nothing about, on a mission he knew nothing of. On top of that he was no physician. What was wrong with her? If it was just a concussion she should have been okay, a little fuzzy, but okay. But Cassiar couldnt even get her to wake up. Kabache was breathing, that was good, but nothing came to mind. He had never learned much medical ritual magic-A minor injury healing, but nothing more. He called it to mind, it wouldnt hurt to try.

After drawing the proper motifs in the circle, this time compleating every minor detail (mostly unnessessary as it will work with just the word-spell, but he needed all the help he could get) and called to mind the words.
He whispered the end, hoping it was enough. He could feel the ritual magic draining from him. The force from before, it was somehow stronger now. How could he have forgotten? He needed to have had a protectant, a boundry, the force grew stronger and him weaker. With the few last breaths before blackness covered his eyes he cursed himself for his stupidity and looked at Kabache...

And then he woke up. He turned his head gently, wondering where he was. But only darkness met his eyes. Slowly he got his body working, starting from the toes up he gently moved each piece of his body until he could sit up and hold his weight.

"Where am I?"

Out of the darkness came a repy, "I was wondering how long it would take for you to wake up." With the last words came an unveiling of light. He was still in the forest, but not on the path. He had been under a darkness prism, keeping all light out of a small box with which he was now held in.

"Wheres..."

"The girl is safe, and healing well."

"And you are?"

"No one of consequence. I am simply a man after a certian artifact. An artifact it seems you are after as well. The girl is famose for stealing. It was quite a pitty when I saw her...feeling under the weather. With your loud blunderings, your lucky I kept the others at bay for you. You could have fought them but once you got to the tower you would have been desemated. Your not much in the ways of stealing. Your too loud."

Cassiar opened his mouth, worked it for a second and then shut it; he didnt know what to say.
