His eyes are behind a pair of dark goggles that give his a hollow look, devoid of emotion. His motions are fluid and definite, like a dancer, with no waste of energy. He wears black, exotic-looking armor that fits very close to his torso. His arms are hidden by long, wide sleeves that end at his fingertips. His legs are similarly hidden by a long robe-like sash. A bastard sword is on his back as well as two short blades at the small of his back. Something about his presence is quite foreboding.Alden was always taught to pursue perfection in everything he did, as well as not spend time on anything pointless. Through meditation, martial-training, and calligraphy he followed this philosophy. As a bounty hunter he learned about the ways that people think and behave, especially when they were prey. He strongly believed that those who strive for strength are those who survive, and the ones who don't seek that improvement deserve only their weakness.
One evening, while practicing calligraphy, Alden fell into a deep trance, but continued to write furiously. When he awoke he found seven beautifully written pieces. As he began to look over his own work he discovered that the pages were instructions, guides, and lectures regarding the achievement effortless perfection of form. Further examination showed that the pages could be read forward, backward, and vertically, each time revealing new information.
Alden eagerly studied the manuscripts and immediately began to see physical improvement as well as heightened awareness. However, with the improvements his emotions began to fade. Unphased, he continued to test himself and soon grew notorious in the underworld. Respected like a natural force.
This notoriety soon attracted the attention of a certain Natalia Arianix. She approached him with an interesting proposal. She wanted to employ him in the rebellion against the Queen of Lorven.
After careful consideration, as well as review of his precious manuscripts, Alden decided that this opportunity to strengthen himself should not be allowed to pass.
