as far as gameplay goes i would like players to use invisible castle (http://invisiblecastle.com/index.py) to roll their dice. i want players to take care of all of their own rolls except for combat situations. i will be running combat similar to the way that etheriel is running it in iron miracles. so palyers will post the mechanics of their turn as well as a bit of flavor text and leave the dice rolling as well as the actual outcome to me.

for extended tests i want players to make all of their rolls at one time and then determine how long it will take to accomplish what they want. i will trust players to make reasonable thresholds and intervals, and i will make any adjustments i feel are necessary.

Players Post: Ralleigh gets to work fixing the step van.

for the purpose of the this test we will say my skill rating is 4 and my attribute score is 3 with no dice pool modifiers

Automotive Repair + Logic (10, 1 hour)
hour 0: repairing the step van ([4,3,5,3,3,3,4] = 1 hit) (http://invisiblecastle.com/find.py?id=543710)
hour 1: repairing the step van ([5,4,3,6,5,2,3] + 1 = 4 hits) (http://invisiblecastle.com/find.py?id=543718)
hour 2: repairing the step van ([4,3,5,6,5,1,6] + 4 = 8 hits) (http://invisiblecastle.com/find.py?id=543719)
hour 3: repairing the step van ([6,5,5,6,1,3,4] + 8 = 12 hits) (http://invisiblecastle.com/find.py?id=543721)

Ralleigh needs three hours of uninterrupted work in order to repair the step van.

after some thought on this, i decided that it would probably be better if extended tests were handled more like combat. simply announce the extended test that you intend to attempt and i will determine the rest.
