Yeah, E3's gettin canceled next year and maybe forever. I wanted to go, just once, but now it seems that's impossible. Maybe there'll be a game expo in Vegas next year...I can only hope.

That really sucks, I really wanted to go to one too. I don't think that any gaming expo they will pull off could compare to E3. One solution is they could charge less for booths...

Yeah, but it's unlikely that they'll want to lower the price of anything, even if it does mean the death of E3. I never really thought I'd be able to attend one, but it was still something I enjoyed reading about after the fact. :(

• hmm so they are canceling it because there arent enough takers? that pretty much sucks... E3 was one place that games coming from small studios could get the hype that they deserved...

It's pretty sad that the most reknowned gaming expo was cancelled due to it's high expenses. That being said, they probably couldn't operate in a profitable or even break-even state if they lowered the cost. Thus the cancellation.
So however sorrowful it is, it is logical.

scratch that. Apparently someone was exaggerating to get attention or something. No, they just "downsized" it. It'll now be smaller and completely press only, so they won't have to spend a large budget on one time flashy doo-hickies. The companies are planning on concentrating more on the smaller expos though.
